Vuelvo a la Mesa

STEEL · 104 BPM

A dim room at night — a wooden table, an empty chair pulled out, an oud leaning in the corner, warm lamplight — cover artwork for Vuelvo a la Mesa

“VUELVO A LA MESA”
1-OF-1 COVER ARTWORK

The Table— the place people keep coming back to. An empty chair is pulled out, waiting. A single oud rests in the shadows. The light is low and dry, the same hotel-room quiet as the other tracks, but the composition carries a quiet pulse, like the hand drum underneath the song. It was chosen because the track is about returning. Not arriving for the first time — returning. The image shows the room still holding the shape of the person who left, and the instrument that never stopped answering.

// THE CONCEPT

Trying to honor the Sephardic / Ladino tradition, this version keeps the original "return to the table" heart while opening it into a more festive, ancient Sephardic-Ladino celebration with clear Hebrew and Ladino references. Sephardic Ladino heritage, ancient modal melody, festive but soulful, upbeat 104 BPM, warm frame drums and hand percussion, deep oud leads with melismatic runs, modern subtle kick underneath.

// LYRICS

[Intro]
Vuelvo…
Vuelvo a la mesa
[Verse 1]
Years move, but the table stays
Same wood, same quiet place
Hand drum calls, the oud replies
Old roots beneath these newer skies
[Pre-Chorus]
Todavía llama
Casa llama
[Chorus]
Vuelvo, vuelvo — mesa
Casa llama — fiesta
Vuelvo, vuelve — acércate
Casa llama — canta ya
[Verse 2]
From Spain to the sea, to the dust of home
Ladino words the wind still knows
Baruch Hashem for those who stayed
For those who left, for those who prayed
[Pre-Chorus and Chorus repeat]
[Break – call and response]
[Lead] Ay!
[Response] Ay!
[Lead] Shema!
[Response] Shema!
[Lead] Vuelvo!
[Response] Vuelvo!
[Bridge]
Am Yisrael
Still at the table
Am Yisrael
Still at the table
Old roots, new roads
We are still alive
[Final Chorus – fuller, more festive]
Vuelvo, vuelvo — mesa
Casa llama — fiesta
Vuelvo, vuelve — acércate
Casa llama — canta ya
Vuelvo, vuelvo — mesa
Casa llama — fiesta
[Outro]
Vuelvo…

Todavía llama — still calling · Casa llama — the house is calling · acércate — come closer · canta ya — sing now · Baruch Hashem — blessed be the Name · Shema — hear · Am Yisrael — the people of Israel
